Pitching to media is not for everyone. Some consider it dispiriting soul-sucking work -full of rejection. But not you. Strange as it might sound – you eat rejection for breakfast. After all – being turned down, or not receiving a response at all, provides the opportunity to re-tool and figure out how to approach it differently next time.
You pitch to print and on-line publications. You pitch to influencers and bloggers. You’re on social media and have experience pitching through social media channels. Yes, we know social is different from traditional media – but how different- you tell us. Working multiple fronts is your specialty.
This media relations work is ultimately about visibility right? Getting your clients out there to be seen.
Are You Qualified?
Our clients are in the HR marketplace. It would be great if you know the HR marketplace. It’s not a deal breaker if you don’t.
Needless to say, you need to be able to write like a dream and be able to relate to clients.
You need media relations experience. Demonstrate you know what that means.
